Oscar Wilde’s long and eventful journey to California in 1882.
Oscar Wilde travelled across America in Canada to lecture 141 times, but his journey to California was an event in itself. It constituted his longest period of continuous train travel—4 days and 4 nights—incorporating some 1867 miles and over 200 station stops.
